HOA Is Pseudo Government - Demands "dues" by April 15th!
We have just received the bill from the mandatory HOA that we exist in and the HOA demands we pay the HOA assessments "on or before April 15th!" This sham (fascist) HOA government demands payment of HOA "dues" or else! They think they are the IRS! And why not? They can lien and foreclose our homes just like the IRS can! There is nothing like being "locked in" to a mandatory HOA dictatorship. Never again!!!

FL HOA PUD UPDATE...........October 2008
Just an update on the current condition of our central Florida mandatory HOA PUD (planned unit development,) There are quite a few bank foreclosures here now, some in very questionable condition and maintenance.......Surprise! Surprise! The "management company" sent "Violation Notices" to some of the remaining, resident "titleholders"....let me quote from our latest: "During our most recent inspection our inspector noticed the following situation." "Please clean the driveway to remove any mold and mildew. Thanks." (The key word here must be "any.") "Please understand that after this notification, there will be a second notification, and after that point, the community will correct the infraction themselves under the statutory and Declaration prescribed "self-help" method, and at that point, the item will be charged and individually assessed to the unit owner via a special assessment." "If you have corrected this situation before receiving this letter 'Thank You' on behalf of the Board of Directors." Notwithstanding the fact that this IS FL hurricane season until Nov., maybe beyond, and we are having a lot of much needed rain, which of course, makes for mold and mildew on concrete, etc. The "property manager" and "inspector" must in all circumstances keep up their cashflow from the mandatory HOA cashcows. Hence the threats, so common now, to be almost laughable. "Special assessment" threats and harassment based upon "mold and mildew" in FL hurricane season are truly ludicrous. Thanks HOA lawyers and HOA management companies and "property managers" of the HOA Industry! We know this is protecting our "property values" so very well!!!! Once the "mold and mildew" is again removed from our driveways we will see our "property values" shoot way up!! Provided, of course, that we do not just give up and "mail the keys" to the mortgage company!!!!!

COERCION IN HOAs
HOAs may be understood as a coordinated system of coercive influence and behavior control designed to deceptively manipulate people while picking their pockets in the interests of the originators of the HOA (CAI?) program. Elements that distinguish HOAs from other socialization schemes to promote compliance with payments are the interpersonal and psychological attacks to destabilize an individual's sense of self, the use of an organized peer group and interpersonal pressure to promote conformity as well as the manipulation of the totality of the subject's social environment to stabilize behavior once modified. In other words, if we don't go along with the program and keep paying then our "homes" are confiscated and we are moved alone to another lab setting in the grand experiment that is America.

Prison Religions in HOAs
"Prison Religions" do indeed offer hope to the disenfranchised, but I detect self interest in much of their proselytizing. We were for some time harassed by "Mormon Missionaries," who pounded on our door and refused to take no for an answer. Later, we discovered they were building a new Mormon "church" just a few miles away. They needed financing from "new member converts." Jehovah Witnesses also harassed us, and didn't want to give up until I was forced to tell them to leave our property. (We have a 'No Trespassing' sign on the way to our front door.) Much of their efforts to "convert" others has a financial motive as well as their motives for controlling others. The fact that we live in a mandatory HOA in Florida does not help, of course. Somehow these religious proselytizers instinctively realize that mandatory HOAs are very similar to their money grabbing, controlling religions!
